Challenge: Coast Capital Savings wanted an employee newsletter that could tell complex corporate stories in a refreshing and meaningful way, while also helping to build a dynamic, unified culture.
Our Thinking: We developed the publication, which we called gist, to feel
like a magazine instead of your typical cracker-dry corporate rag. gist is at times cheeky and edgy (in keeping with Coast Capital Savings’ maverick attitude), yet its format is flexible enough to deliver the requisite corporate messages in a purposeful and intriguing way. We also focused gist on Coast Capital’s people to forge a stronger culture across a company with diverse geography.
Results: In 2006, the International Association of Business Communicators awarded gist the Gold Quill Excellence Award for Publications, the highest level
of professional acknowledgement within
the business community today. As the accolades keep pouring in, we continue
to create gist quarterly with Coast
Capital Savings.
